The Federation of Indian Granite & Stone Industry (FIGSI)

The Federation of Indian Granite & Stone Industry (FIGSI) is the primary association representing India’s granite and natural stone sector. FIGSI organizes the globally recognized International Granite and Stone Fair (STONA), which is held every alternate year in Bangalore, Karnataka, India. The association was previously known as the All India Granite & Stone Industry (AIGSA).

Established in 1983, FIGSI has worked continuously for the development and modernization of the stone industry. The federation acts as a bridge between industry stakeholders and the government, contributing to improvements in mineral regulations, policies, operational processes, and sustainable business practices.

Centre for Development of Stones (CDOS)

The Centre for Development of Stones (CDOS) conducts the popular STONEMART – International Stone Industry Exhibition, held every alternate year in Jaipur, Rajasthan, India.

CDOS is an autonomous, non-profit organization promoted by the Government of Rajasthan along with the Rajasthan State Industrial Development & Investment Corporation Ltd. (RIICO). Its objective is to develop, promote, and support India’s dimensional stone industry through technical initiatives, exhibitions, training programs, and industry collaboration.

The Centre has membership participation from stone traders, processors, exporters, and quarry operators from across the country.

Major Local Stone Trade Associations in Rajasthan

Along with national bodies like FIGSI and CDOS, India also has strong local stone trade associations that work closely with quarry owners, traders, processors, exporters, and transporters at the ground level. These associations handle day-to-day industry issues and represent regional stone clusters. Two of the most active district-level associations in Rajasthan are:

Kishangarh Marble Association (KMA) – Rajasthan

Location: Kishangarh, Ajmer District – Rajasthan

Known as the β€œMarble City of India,” Kishangarh is the country’s largest marble processing hub. The Kishangarh Marble Association (KMA) represents hundreds of marble processors, slab manufacturers, wholesalers, and exporters operating within this massive stone cluster.

Main role of KMA:

  • Supports day-to-day business and operational issues of marble traders and processors
  • Represents members on transport rules, GST concerns, local compliance matters, and infrastructure challenges
  • Organizes trade meetings, networking events, and regional exhibitions
  • Acts as the primary collective voice of the Kishangarh marble industry

Jalore Granite Association – Rajasthan

Location: Jalore District – Rajasthan (India’s largest granite quarry belt)

Jalore is India's biggest producer of natural granite, supplying raw blocks and processed slabs to both domestic and export markets. The Jalore Granite Association represents quarry owners, block traders, granite processors, and exporters across the region.

Main role of the association:

  • Represents quarry owners, traders, and processors of the Jalore granite belt
  • Coordinates with government authorities on mining leases, royalty issues, transport permits, environmental compliance, and safety regulations
  • Helps resolve local quarry operation challenges and labor-related matters
  • Promotes trade development and unity among granite suppliers
